I was an IMDb refugee. lol. I've been tweeting about tmdb, trying to lure the lost souls of imdb to my new abode. Anyway I like this site. It's virtualy troll free.

Yes...a definite plus.
I think that's mostly a function of it being new and relatively unknown though.

Yep. When we get enough people here discussing our favorite shows, the trolls will follow.

I've experienced some trolling in the beginning back in February as the board was ramping up and IMDb members from the TWD board were beginning to come over. One member in particular who was big on trolling over on IMDb from what I was able to find during my incident.
I had never encountered that before. The person even created a nasty post using my avatar. In any case, I called the user out on the fake post and notified Travis...the board creator and lead engineer.
The trolling immediately stopped and the post was deleted. Needless to say, I was grateful and impressed at the quick action.
I hope as this site gets bigger that they will continue to act as quickly when a user reports a problem.

How fantastic that it was fixed so quickly! What a champ Travis is!
But dealing with one troll is a lot different from dealing with thousands.
First I would like to say, I love the spelling of your name...Knixon.
Secondly, in my case it was only one troll. However, I cannot say definitively if Travis has only had to deal with just that one. It is my understanding that quite a few IMDb members migrated to here from the Walking Dead board...trolls included. I also heard that they were a huge problem over there. However so far, it doesn't seem to be the case here. At least not yet.
In any case, you're right. As the volume picks up...it will be interesting to see how trolling is dealt with if it becomes a problem. I really do hope that this site will rarely have to go there. Otherwise, it'll zap the fun right out.

That's a secondary nickname I picked up on IRC, so I decided to use it here too. And sometimes when someone asks "Where did you go?" my answer is "To China, of course!"

I'm here! (Only 3 years late in responding to this thread.)
Boy, this thread takes me down memory lane with all these former posters. Hoping it fires emails to them- not sure how that works- and they consider coming back.

Is there supposed to be some kind of photo or illustration? I don't see anything.

It was a smiling, hand clapping imoji. I used one from my device. It's weird you can't see it. The one above is from the TMDb collection.
Sorry about that.

It's almost May, so it might be possible to get some useful numbers on declining visits to imdb.

True! Scrolling through the avatars on the left is weird!! unfortunately it looks like IMDB has survived.
