I like it. It had me very engaged just as in the old days of the show. I admit, I am watching for whatever Rick has in store. I adore him, and I am so very sad for him to leave. I think he will become ill, or bitten, then taken away by the helicopter. His fate will be left open-ended.

I'd like to see that, but I'm afraid Rick will be killed off.

It would be nice to see it left open ended, but I too have a feeling it's going to be him getting killed by the Whisperers, but we shall see. I thought I read somewhere that Maggie's exit will be open ended for a return at some point. I liked the premiere quite a bit. Seeing them on horse back and trying to rebuild is pretty cool. Although, I'm curious where they found the horses, lol. From previous encounters we've seen, the horses haven't fared well.

Oh wow, people still watch this show? I gave up after the abysmal season 7. Might watch season 8 on Netflix but they ruined this show with their shitty pacing a while ago.

Maggie's is open ended because Lauren Cohan most likely wanted a fall back in case her show on ABC didn't workout, if she does come back it will either be in the finale or somewhere way down the line.

Welcome back. Yes, some of us have stuck it out. I have a feeling you won't like season 8 much either. Very Negan centric. Maybe just pick up with S9, at least until Rick's last episode. They have to up the game quite a bit to keep me watching after that.

Lincoln says it was his idea to leave. I can't imagine how they could write Rick out without killing him off.

well, I'll say it looks like they've notched up the budget this season. let's hope it holds beyond the premiere. Visually it's raised the bar I think.
