@bloodshot77

I liked the finale. Fans left the show because of complaints about constant bloodshed and no hope of peace. Now there's hope and the complaints continue. Tough crowd.

Can we not get into these long threaded quotes? They are effing annoying as hell! Just choose a sentence or small paragraph to quote and take it from there.

Agreed.

I don't see how Maggie can banish Rick since they are both leaders of different communities, she would have to have the Hilltop wage war on Alexandria. Though that itself would not be too far fetched since I can't see the Hilltop or the Kingdom accepting any refugees from the Sanctuary and Jadis and the Oceansiders are not likely going to want to stay in Alexandria or even have anything to do with it knowing Negan is imprisoned there and they might bump in to people who slaughtered their communities!

I think there's little chance of peace happening in season 9 as vigilantes are likely not going to tolerate living side by side with former Savior soldiers and Alexandria will immediately be at odds with all the other communities for basically harbouring the man who devastated them.

Alexandria was destroyed and the people from there were all at Hilltop. Remember the saviors pretty much burned the place to the ground and everyone escaped to the Hilltop? That is where everyone, our main cast, is now. So only two places functionally exist, Hilltop and The Kingdom. And except for the handful at Hilltop, no one from the Sanctuary is anywhere but at their old haunt which as it showed in the finale, the people from Hilltop were helping rebuild (delivering them glass for the broken windows, etc).

Oceanside will go back to Oceanside as that is still their home.

Rick I imagine differs to Maggie as she runs Hilltop. And I was simply speculating as to the plan. Maybe it isn't to hurt Rick or Michonne but to kill Negan? Or maybe it is just what it sounds like. IF the show goes on beyond next season I bet they reverse the whole deal and no revenge is taken on Rick cause he is Rick. If it does end next season, as some are predicting if the ratings slide does not stop when the series returns, then they'll either leave us hanging as to what will happen or again nothing will happen.

Meh. Just don't (re)read them?

I totally get why Maggie and Daryl feel the way they do about Negan living. But a secret meeting to discuss a nefarious action against Richonne was surprising and kind of jacked up. They've been through too much together to go down that road.

Rick's betrayal was deep here, IMO. Maggie screaming was the highlight of this episode and drew viewers (or me at least) back to the savagery demonstrated against Glen, lest we forget. This reaction revealed Rick's "in memory of Carl" act as the ultimate selfcenteredness, setting up the 'betrayal' meeting. Rick's leadership shortsightedness had sown the seeds for division, even as he delivered yet another redundant "we are good, and you will join us or else" speech. sigh Now that is 'effing annoying.'

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "batrayal". More difference of opinion and honoring the dying wish of Carl. In the comics...Rick allowed Negan to live...even though Carl's character did not die.

I remember the brutality of Abraham's and Glen's death. It was the worst the show had ever done. I thought about it for days after.

Nevertheless, if Maggie and Daryl are planning to take Rick and Michonne out for allowing Negan to live...that act would be known as a betrayal in the true sense of the word. I would think that Glen would not want his wife to go down such a path that would make her become this person that we see developing with Maggie. I can't see her father Herschel wanting this for his daughter either. Maggie can be a successful leader without having to lose herself in the process.

As for Daryl. A lot of what I think he's coping with still is guilt. His actions triggered Glen's death. He was bonding nicely with Denise at the time of her death by Dwight. And, don't forget, by Dwight's own admission...he was aiming for Rosita. Daryl had made a few missteps in dealing with Dwight. Each one came back to bite him in the ass. Dwight redeemed himself in the end to be given a pass by Daryl. So, it is bat shit crazy in my opinion for Daryl to turn against his "brother from another mother" Rick given all that they've been through.

If Negan had killed Rick's wife, do you think he gets a pass? Negan didn't kill Carl, and Rick was already postured to kill him for Carl's death. But now he want's to honor Carl's wishes at the expense of everyone else's misery? #hypocrisy

Glen was the second person Rick met in this new world...second to Morgan. His relationship with Glen was just as deep as his relationship with anyone else with whom he came to love.

I wouldn't describe what he did as hypocrisy. I would describe it as freaking difficult. Maggie is going through her own pain so I'm not discounting her feelings or being unsympathetic. What I'm saying is that it won't change a damn thing for her if Negan is dead.

For her to plot against Rick and Michonne will always remain fuched up to me. I could accept her killing Negan herself behind Rick's back. But to plot against the man who has helped bring them this far, who saved her father's life after he was bit, who helped rescue her and Glen when they were taken by the Governor, who helped rescue her sister...despite her death in the end. After all that. Sorry but that is fuched up!

@Daddie0

Oh, by the way. Rick was not going to kill Negan for Carl's death. He had been attempting to kill Negan long before that. Not sure why you think that.

@Nubyan I don't think Maggie is plotting against Rick. Like she not out to get him I thought she was just coming up with a plan to kill Negan.

I'm not entirely sure what Maggie is up to. But I think it's more than just killing Negan.

I also don't believe I'm the only one to think that.

He was going to kill Negan for Glenn and Abraham. Everything after was just fuel for the fire.

@jonnieblack:

Right. I was stating that Rick wanting to kill Negan had nothing to do with Carl dying as mentioned by Daddie0.

@Nubyan

Right, and I am agreeing with you.
