I was getting tired of the blurry lines, the question of whether Negan could actually end up being an ally to our group.

He made his position crystal clear - he and Rick are not going to be playing in the sandbox. No more talk.

Good. So let's get on with it.

We know that Rick's group are the protagonists of the show.

We know there's no way in hell the writers brought us through almost eight seasons with Rick's group to just get wiped out and supplanted by a new group with whom we have little affinity.

So, let's get it on.

And, please, please, please, make sure Eugene gets killed, slow and painful. Might be a nice twist if Rosita and Father Gabriel somehow joined together in skinning him alive or boiling him in oil or hanging him by his disemboweled entrails, or some such other deliciously gruesome come around for all that has gone around with him.

And then, Rick's group can finally live happily ever after. Neat as a pin. Cute as a button.
