... and then have some moral dilemma about killing the boss who has a name? "Don't do it, Morgan! We'll be as bad as they are!" she says after they murdered their way to him.

This happens in many shows and I never liked it.

End this show and start a new one about Negan rebuilding the Saviors but doing it right this time. (and with entirely different writers/directors/showrunner)

yeah he kills all the saviors one by one instantly with no remorse doesn't even blink then he finds the one guy with speaking parts and lets the guy talk his way to stay alive until the next commercial break LOL.

corny as hell.

SPOILER:

It made more sense to me when Carol told him that he didn't really want to kill Gavin. I still feel the "All life is precious" maxim means a lot to him, somewhere underneath all of the psychosis.

But it's like this over and over in shows. Rampant kill-fest when it is a bunch of nameless actors. Then when they finally kill their way to the big boss, they don't shoot. Then they have a moment where they struggle with their character. Only because that character is named and warrants of more dramatic scene and/or needs to be used again in the show. It is tiresome and makes no sense. I expect something more than Arrow level writing from Walking Dead. Wait ... why do I expect that?

And that was the mid-season premiere! grinning

I see your point, Horus. I think it is intended to drive home to an audience, the great moral dilemna of killing and it's consequences. Or it could just be, let's give them lots of blood and guts, with a little moral dilemma thrown in.

That guy was the nicest of negans henchman and him the king had a understanding of sorts.

I think the latter is what the show is about. I've been saying for over a year that TWD's for gorehounds. Bringing back the Carol vs. Morgan conflict, with the positions reversed, probably seemed like a bright idea to the writers.
