Yeah! The 2nd time they did it, I just wanted to let out this big sigh. The explanation that they gave for the first occurrence wasn't enough for me in last episode.
Thank God they extended the episode by 30 minutes or we wouldn't have gotten that. It's like they thought that each of these people has their own unique journey and showing their face would convey the specific drama of character development that they carry. Not quite. This show isn't like that. They pasted this treatment onto it. The only character in that montage that could dignify that depth currently is The King (and maybe Eugene but he wasn't even in the montage).
Look, I like the show and all but it is not the greatest. Perhaps the show has been too popular for too long and they think they are artists now.
That said, I do kind of feel that Greg Nicotero is an artist albeit in a kind of sick way... and of course, the acting on the show is generally high-quality.
Agreed. On all points. You've got some Savior actors who put on their best "wicked" voice whenever they speak -- they pull the overall quality down. I wasn't thinking about that when I posted that post.
For me, the strong half of the cast that you mentioned keeps me coming back for more every week. Or at least, come 2018.

Nicotero is an artist, and the acting is pretty good all around. The problem is the writing, and Scott Gimple. IMO.

Scott is out as showrunner for Season 9. It's gonna be Angela Kang as showrunner for that one.

Really. I hadn't heard. Good, then we don't have to see his stupid face with the awful hipster wanna be beard on Talking Dead.

Probably the WORST CRAP I have seen on TWD! I expect it in the comic frames, but not the show. We had it not once, but twice! I mean, REALLY!!

I was just thinking, they did make it past show #100, so you may have a point.

I agree on a little more than half of the cast but there are a handful of rotten actors. Always a matter of opinion when it comes to this though.
And sure, there is art to the show but I don't feel like it is in the same zone as they are starting to treat it as.
Bottom line: I'll certainly be watching it till the end. I even stuck with its lame spinoff (which admittedly got better)
