My impression is that the walker guts somehow gave Father Gabriel a blood infection, similar to what happens with a walker bite.

I wish he'd just die already. FFS. Or, better yet, bite Eugene, first, then die, then have Eugene turn, feed on Gabriel's corpse before the grisly scene is discovered, then flame the whole room and let that be the final end of the both of them.

Eugene is a very interesting character, and very essential in the comics.

I don't read/know the comics. As far as the show goes, I'd be happy to see him gone.

Yeah, I don't find the coward especially interesting either. Frankly, they killed off many of the most interesting characters on the show last season, seemingly for the simple reason that those characters indulged in interracial relationships....

Indeed, several much more interesting characters have been killed of, any of whom I preferred over that dolt.

Hmm... I never thought of it but, yes, Glenn and Abraham and Sasha had something in common here... but the biggest interracial couple in the show are both still alive.

Now that you've mentioned this, though, it's also curious how all the gay couples have also suffered killing.
