The "We're going to war!!" tagline for this latest season is cringeworthy to the point of nausea.

It's just so obnoxiously repetitive as a plot device. I immediately thought of LOST season 2, with Jack howling "WE'RE GOING TO BUILD AN ARMY!" Ugh, they pulled that crap at least once every season until the finale. Every main character got knocked out with the butt of a rifle at least 85 times and were captured over and over and over again. I couldn't even force myself to watch anymore. The writers seem to get their inspiration from the Transformers or G.I. Joe cartoons. Every week its all-out war but no one ever fukcing dies.

Every Joss Whedon sci-fi show fell back on a WE'RE GOING TO WAR!!!! story arc. Buffy and her vampire-killing companions probably had to BUILD AN ARMY! at critical moments in the show. Because THEY'RE GOING TO WAR!!!!

I'm sure at least once per season, Jean Luc Picard faced a situation of scant resources and a powerful enemy. And guess what ... set phasers to WE'RE GOING TO WAR!!!!
