You may have nailed it! Although, for the writers to pander to such lame wordplay is a smidgen disconcerting for me. I guess we'll soon have a character join the Navy and his name would be Davey.
To me the whole episode felt, like they were trying to get the message across with a sledgehammer.
Yeah, but what is the message? I'm squarely with team Tara/Daryl/Morgan. Shucks, even Ezekiel is clear. But, are the really trying to say that Rick and Neegan are "the same"? Poppycock.
We've seen, since day 1, how the people who gravitated around Rick mostly embraced selfessness. Since Rick first went back for Merle; and then for Glenn. Heck, since Morgan first took Rick in and brought him quickly up to speed, they've been about looking out for each other, taking others in and also being taken in (Herschel, Alexandria)...
Yes, they've had to do things. But they never enjoyed it, never relished it, never reveled in it, never made sport of it. From Woodbury to Terminus to the Trash people to the small group that Daryl was with until they set upon RIck and Carl, to the Saviours, Rick's group has been like none of them.
So, no, Morales, you and Rick have not travelled the same road. You did not go with Rick when you all left Atlanta. You left Rick's group. What became of you is sad, and Daryl put a mercifully quick end to it.

So glad Daryl dispatched that weasel! It was so pleasureful.
