Ratings are down, but it's still the #1 scripted cable show. It's in zero jeopardy of going anywhere. I'd say we have at least 3 more seasons of TWD, if not more.
And even when it finishes, this franchise is going to go on. They'll just start over in Wisconsin, or Oklahoma. Or maybe London. Then half the cast won't have to use fake American accents anymore!

Can't say I'm really surprised. This show has been going downhill for some time now.

Yes, the show quality has declined. I also think the zombie genre has been played out. It happened with vampires, now its the zombies turn.
