Has anyone come up with a logical answer as to how 'The Garbage People' speak the way they do?? Judging by Judith's age, it's only been a few years since the zombie apocalypse. So how do a bunch of people go from discarding perfectly good English, to speaking like weirdos??

Great question. Seems more an expression of writer creativity for the sake of trying to make something different, interesting, beyond any rational explanation within the logic of the TWD universe.

Yeah, maybe the writers were subconsciously inspired by something from MAD MAX, where, at least, the behaviours of eccentric characters made sense. It's just one in a number of lazy goofs and contrivances perpetrated by the writing team over the last season, or two.

Jadis said they were there since before the ZA. So I think she was a runaway or abandoned kid. Her and all these homeless people lived in the Junkyard when the world was normal and they got away with it because they hid well. They say that ''We take, we don't bother'' which I think is a way of saying we steal stuff and stay hidden and they were doing that since before the ZA.
I think if you grew up in a Junkyard with a whole load of other runaways or homeless people then you wouldn't have any education and you'd only speak to a certain extent, not coherently like people in the normal education system.
I just want to add even if the character makes some sense to me, I really hate her and her stupid way to talk and the whole Junk Yard gang. I really hope they don't come back next season.

I posted in another thread about the exact same thing. Unfortunately, Jadis at least, will be back for next season as she's already signed on. Their appearance, the language, is too cartoonish. They should have adapted them differently for TV in my opinion.

I figured it was for the same reason that the people in the Kingdom talk and dress like they're a bit medieval. Building some kind of culture in the zombie apocalypse or something like that.

Ok then it's even more concerning. The writers have clearly watched too many Mad Max movies as some have mentioned before me. At least in the movies they spoke in full sentences and their names were much cooler. Although I don't think names like Rictus Erectus or Pigkiller would have been appropriate for TWD :)

I missed that. So she really knows how to form proper sentences but is just putting on that affectation?
That would indicate some kind of conscious rejection of the civilized world. She definitely has rejected the generally accepted ethics and morality of the civilized world, that which it seems most survivors who previously practiced them have retained.
But they also seem to have intentionally dumbed themselves down quite a bit. Jadis herself is fairly crafty, but she displays a thick headed inability to understand basic concepts at times. Is that an affectation as well? Is it just deviousness, playing her cards close to her vest? I don't know. Sometimes she seems pretty stupid and there doesn't seem to be any tactical reason for it.
Maybe Jadis formed the stupid garbage routine for the same reason His Majesty adopted the whole royalty business, to provide some kind of structure for her followers. Most people look for someone to lead them; they need some kind of social structure and order so they know what to do. It is easier for them to be dumb followers and leave the big decisions to others.

The way they are dragging this Negan thing out, Rick is also getting known for passionately saying he will kill Negan, over and over again. How many times has he told Negan he is going to kill him? How many times has he said that to someone else? And how many times has he blown the chance to kill him? LOL And yeah, his face is always sweaty, especially when he talks about killing Negan.
