Does anyone know why the Garbage Patchers speak like they were raised by imbeciles? It's as if multiple, media-free generations have passed for them. There can be no reasonable explanation - or is there?

I liked someone's theory on this board that they might have been a group of European tourists who learned what English they could as the world fell apart. Honestly, though, I suspect it's more of a stylistic writing choice than anything, meant to reference the post-apocalyptic Mad Max series.

I must've missed that discussion. European tourists would not likely have the skills to survive even the first few days of a ZA. As for a possible homage to the Road Warriors - lamely trying to refer to something that was done so well just tends to make TWD writers look bad, imho. Why not just let them talk like regular people, for crying out loud?? Silly tripe.

Agreed, too silly.
