There were no clues that sasha was going to get killed. I said last week since she is going to be the major charcter on the new star trek show she won't be able to do both shows therefore..............they had to kill her off.

If someone had inside show information and posted it with a spoiler title, that would be obnoxious. But a lot of post headers give away information by context; if you're behind on viewing episodes, simply looking at page one of a discussion board for that show is going to ruin the most important plot developments for you. Is anybody out there not aware of that? Plus in this case, we all knew Sasha was going to die. We just didn't know how.

Thank you, I would definitely understand if the poster posted this before the episode aired, but it was after. I hadn't seen all of the episode myself and I deliberately stayed off message boards until I did because I knew most everything is given away in the subject line of posts. I'm not trying to start arguments on here, I just didn't like the attacking of the original poster when I personally didn't think he did anything wrong and it is something most everyone does on these message boards after an episode airs.

I'm upset that my freedom of speech is being curtailed. I should be able to discuss anything about the episodes.
To be fair, the OP posted a day after the episode aired, so why should he have to put a disclaimer for spoilers in the title? I know if I haven't seen the episode, I stay away from message boards.
Disclaimer: I don't watch TV so I have no skin in this game.
However, a single day after a key episode runs is a bad time to post a spoiler in a heading. It really is. Lots of people don't have time to watch these shows the night they air or even days afterward. And avoiding all message boards if they're your entertainment is asking a lot of people.
If the TMDB organized its boards the way that the IMDB did, where you could only view a particular movie or TV show's discussions by visiting its actual page, I'd agree that yes you're asking for it. But because the TMDB lumps them all together on one general page, it's extremely easy to see a spoiler when you're not even intending to look for information on a particular show.
Leave spoilers out of the title. It's not that hard. "I called that death" would have been sufficient. It feels very, very much like the OP intended to ruin others' enjoyment by posting a spoiler in the title. I see it no differently than the trollish "Dumbledore is dead" that permeated boards and even unrelated online games (I saw it a ton in WOW) when it was controversial.

It was a crappy thing to do.
I'm fine with spoilers as long as they aren't spoilers that the person knows was already filmed and will be in an upcoming episode. It doesn't qualify as a spoiler after the episode aires and specific details of the events are discussed.
Since this issue is such a big deal to everyone. Most people don't mind spoilers while others do. Some people have no dicipline when finding links to click on and then complain about seeing something they consider a spoiler.
I think that people should urge Travis to define what a spoiler is and then set up protocols for how to post spoilers in a manner that warns people beforehand so that they don't accidently click on a spoiler.

You are obviously an idiot and have no idea what a spoiler alert is for.
Posting anything that spoils the show for people a day after or ten years after its aired is a cunty thing to do.
The guy who posted this is a piece of human garbage, and if you don't see that, then you're the used tampon is said garbage.
Not everyone watches it on the exact day it's aired, and it's aired at different times in different countries you self obsorbed sack of shit.
I came here to rant about the disturbing language of the Junkyard people, not to have some douchebag announce all the killings for the rest of the season.
I thought maybe they were all autistic, but now I think maybe they were just average Americans, you twat!
If you don't know how to use a public forum properly, stay the hell off it.
We need moderators here to kick/ban people like you and the fucktard who blatantly ignored the rules.
I think that people should urge Travis to define what a spoiler is and then set up protocols for how to post spoilers in a manner that warns people beforehand so that they don't accidently click on a spoiler.
I know that Travis's ability to configure these boards is limited, but I think the best thing to do (and something I believe is on his radar) is to thread these more. The discussions page should contain only links to the most popular movie, actor, or TV titles (General can remain un-threaded) and show when the latest posting is. That way if you see a topic for "The Walking Dead" and that it has new postings (like "5 recent discussions"), you know there's been activity there but you won't see any headings that might turn out to be spoilers.
I agree that it would be nice, if possible, for Travis to implement a SPOILER tag, as IMDB did, to automatically hide the bracketed item. However, this is a Github site and I'm unfamiliar with just how many customization tools Travis has at his disposal.
At the end of the day, we can only ask that users behave considerately towards others. But as someone who's not new to this whole "interwebs" thing, I know that's unlikely to happen.

And what should be done to you for all the disrespectful language? If we get moderators to ban people, people like you should be the first to be banned. Everyone who has had a disagreeing opinion has not come up here being as disrespectful as you. If you have an opinion there is a way to state it without name calling just because someone doesn't share the same opinion as you. Let's keep it real, you were probably part of the problem of why IMDb shut down their message boards.
So when would be a good time to discuss the show then? Should we wait until after a week later just so that eveyone is all caught up? What seems fair to you?
Anytime, as has always been the case.
It's not a matter of when, it's a matter of how.
If you plan to discuss something that is an obvious spoiler, you write SPOILER in the title, NOT use the title to SPOIL the show, movie, or episode.
If you are especially diligent, you would also add the episode you are spoiling.
E.g. SPOILER Season 7, Episode 16 (or S07E16)
This is not my opinion; this is the rules of this and most every board or medium where people discuss TV, Movies, and Books; and has been for almost 2 decades.
It does mention to do so when you read the board rules here.

That's ridiculous. We'd have to do that with every single thread title and I'm not doing it. I'll use whatever title I feel like. This is a discussion board that doesn't have spoiler tags either. Therefore read at your own risk. That's what I do. So far, I haven't allowed myself to see any major spoilers. If I go into a thread and see minor spoilers, that generally tells me to avoid reading any further. I don't need anyone to hold my hand and guide me into threads that have spoilers. At this point a spoiler can be anything. What is the damn point of a discussion thread if you cannot write in specifics?
So perhaps you should check your own behavior and leave the rest of us out of it.

I don't get abusive when I have differing opinions.
Differing opinions is why I come to these boards; which is difficult if the other users do not know how to use the board.
Besides being common knowledge to announce a spoiler, it says so it the board rules.
Not an opinion... FACT!
Plus, it's just good manners not to be dick.
We turn away when sneezing if we are talking to someone so as not to snot blast their face, not because it's law, but because it's common decency.
If this decency is not built into your psyche, stay away from normal humans forever.
Telling people not to ruin a show or movie is not my opinion, it's my responsibility.
IMDb board was shutdown because of people not following said rules and because too many Social Justice Warriors, such as yourself, were stirring up shit and creating a possible legal action.

Did you know, you couldn't say the word "Douche" on IMDb?
It gets blocked. (got)

Get over yourself, you PC Nazi.
First of all: I've always understood spoilers to be proactive, not retroactive. Meaning rumors and/or inside info on upcoming episodes. If you had to account for every forum user who's not current with the show then literally everything you say could be construed as a spoiler. You'd have to go out of your way to choose vague titles that tell people nothing about the topic of your thread. Which means the binge viewer who hasn't caught up yet would open the thread to see what it was and ... oh no, spoilers! Either that or there'd be spoiler labels in so many places you'd see the damn things everywhere and the label itself would become meaningless. People shouldn't have to be led by the hand. If you haven't viewed the latest episode yet and don't want any hints, stay away from the board for that show until you get a chance to watch it!
Secondly: what in the name of Christ are you talking about? You're going all Fukushima on us here. Cunt, twat, PC Nazi ... huh? Who exactly are you addressing with all that? Because it doesn't seem like anyone here prompted your rant. Your username is obviously well chosen.
