讨论 The Walking Dead

There were no clues that sasha was going to get killed. I said last week since she is going to be the major charcter on the new star trek show she won't be able to do both shows therefore..............they had to kill her off.

I don't see this stuff DRDMovieMusings is all up in arms about as a problem. I wouldn't reveal the twist in a move like The Usual Suspects, which definitely would ruin the viewing experience of someone who's never seen it before, on a board discussing another show or movie where someone might stumble across it by accident. But at the same time, on a board dedicated to a particular show I'm not going to put a warning label every time I mention specific details of events on the show. Some people have very definite ideas about How Things Should Be Done. That's fine. But since DRDMovieMusings doesn't happen to be the site administrator his opinion is not TOS. The rest of us are free to disregard it.

I said this earlier in the discussion, but I'll repeat myself since this is so deep now. The problem, I think, is more with the way TMDB organizes its boards and not necessarily that spoilers are revealed in a TV show's discussion. Because the TMDB places all discussions in a general "TV Shows" thread instead of breaking them out into show/movie titles, it's much too easy to see spoilers in titles when you're not necessarily intending to.

As things exist today, if I am watching a show like The Walking Dead and don't want to risk seeing spoilers, I have to avoid the entire "TV Discussions" thread on TMDB or I might see someone post a spoiler if it's in the title of a thread because it will appear as one of the latest discussions on the TMDB boards. On the IMDB, where people came from, you'd have had to first go to the page for the specific show, then click on "Discussions" and THEN you'd see the (spoilerish) title.

I really do wish the TMDB (Travis) would perhaps experiment with simply listing the names of the shows with the most recent discussions and who has posted. For instance, instead of seeing this thread title you'd see:

Latest Discussions:

Etc.

(Those links work, by the way, as an illustration.)

That way, nobody could intentionally or unintentionally post spoilers in the titles that might catch someone unawares. I'd say that if you have to drill deeper than the general "TV Discussions" page, THEN you deserve what you get. Right now, as things are organized, it's either don't come to the TMDB at all if you're afraid of spoilers, or risk seeing something you might regret.

PS: To be effective, the Discussions boards for the TMDB pages would need to be organized according to the date of the most recent discussion as well. Right now, each show's discussions page is only sorted according to the date that the topic was created. I don't know if Travis can fix this, but it's kind of a poor way (imo) to sort message boards.

You may have a point there. If I hadn't seen the season finale of TWD yet and was confronted with the title of this thread on the main TV Discussions page, that would be irritating. Well alright, maybe not so much in this case since Sasha's death was the surprise absolutely everyone saw coming. But if Daryl, say, had died as well, seeing a thread titled "I can't believe they killed Daryl!" would pretty much ruin that shock for you.

I believe they are sorted according to date of most recent post.
