In the present day. Right now there isn't an operational vehicle that could get you as far as the moon. So if you proposed escaping a global disaster by traveling to another planet, I'd want to know how you planned on doing that.

I'd find an oil rig off the coast. No way for zombies to reach you, and should have months or even years worth of food. I'd make periodic trips to shore in the houseboat/yacht that I have surely commandeered to resupply. I'd find me a bunch of deep cycle batteries and some high powered solar panels. I'd spend my days drinking cold beer watching Seinfeld on DVD while the rest of the world burns.

Hey we are speaking to our imagination. It's not like people dying and coming back to life as ravenous flesh eaters exists. The question was asked and I answered it. In my world, travel to and surviving on Mars would very much be an option.

i have just come back from surgery right and i recon a hospital would be a great place to hold up in, after it has been cleared ofc, as there are loads of doors and they are all security doors, lots of doors leading off to other areas, easily blockable, lots of food and medication, lots of space, lots of outdoor gardens that are inside the perimeter for growing food
