Trying to figure out what Dwight's up to

I think he is passively trying to help Rick's group, it was a little unclear if they sent him out with anybody from Rick's group. Then he cut down the trees himself, which makes me think that he might sympathize with Rick's group instead of just waiting for Negan, it was a little unclear because there was a weird time jump in the episode, he also found time to change his clothes as well, I think next season you will see Dwight trying to undermine Negan, especially if Sheri comes back into the picture.

Sheri is "dead" (According to dwight) so if she shows up, Dwight will meet Lucille
I think now Rick has 2 allies/spies at sanctuary, Eugene and Dwight, Negan will always suspect Eugene after what happened to Sasha but Dwight will be in the all clear..i won't be surprised if from time to time dwight shows up and passes along information regarding what negan is upto..

I think Dwight sold that Negan as an answer for him to stop looking for her, we never got a clear answer as to what happened to Sheri after she helped Daryl escape, I think Daryl and Jesus may know, however have her in hiding somewhere and are not really telling anybody as a means of protecting her.

It's like he told Daryl. Dwight became a part of the Saviors to protect Sheri, now that she's gone he has no reason to hold his nose and put up with that life anymore. I don't think he was privy to the whole double cross with the garbage people. That's why he left the little soldier figurine with the message "Didn't Know" for someone to find. At least Negan still doesn't suspect him. His cover is intact, so to speak. I'm sure he'll get back in touch with Rick's group as soon as he can. Hopefully Sheri is still alive. It would be nice to see them reunited again in the end.
