That was the best episode in a long time!!! They really pulled out all the shots!!! I was holding my breath thinking that Daryl was going to get shot when he was on top of whatever he was standing on at the end, while looking around!!!

the vaunted forces of The Kingdom were about six people (and a horse) and Hilltop brought about ten! Hardly the army we had been assured would come together. And why? MONEY. AMC did not want to spend the bucks on a major extra pool so they shot and staged the big battle like a HS play about Valley Forge.

I know the cheapness accusation leveled at AMC is oft-repeated but yeah this really was sad for the finale, especially the presentation of the kingdom.

The whole second half of this season has been about needing the combined numbers of themselves and the other groups to defeat the saviours but when we finally see the pay off to this "rise up" build up there's next to nobody extra!

The stupid thing is that unlike the Kingdom, I actually thought the Hilltoppers effort actually looked pretty good, even though like you say it was also pretty poor - I think that's because it has been reinforced in my mind so many times that only Maggie, Sasha, Jesus, mini-Kylo Ren and Gregory actually lived at Hilltop. At least, to be fair, they managed to present the Kingdom as having people actually living there...

Actually agreements are fun. You should try it some time rather than being such an argumentative negative Nilly.

Sorry, I prefer the concept of independent thought rather than wandering around in a pack like a bunch of zombies. wink

And you feel comfortable following the crowd of critics? How independent is that?

I haven't even read what the critics had to say (yet). I'm just happy to offer and discuss my point of view. Will you not allow me to do so?

Seriously, why are you fighting to have an echo chamber? Afraid of a little debate? I didn't come here to attack you so let's just focus on arguing about what we've seen and interpreted from this season's finale, shall we?

But of course, I'm invested so heavily into this story that I can't just say that I'm done with TWD altogether and call it quits. I might take it one step further, as another viewer mentioned, and watch the first two episodes perhaps, then the mid-season finale, then repeat the process for the next half of the season. It would definitely be more efficient and if season eight is to be anything like season seven, I definitely will not have missed a thing.

Well, I'm done with the show and what I am going to do is simply watch it on Netflix and just run through the season since its takes about a season for anything to actually happen now. They don't deserve my viewership. The writing has been godawful.

@movie_nazi I hope you keep posting. I enjoy your comments.

I'm sensing sarcasm.

Nonetheless, I can see where movie_nazi is coming from. It, too, isn't such a bad idea.

I'm not fighting you. Of course I'm unafraid of a little debate. But most of the replies are criticiizing the finale, not supporting it. You have no one to debate with. So that's why I suggested you go into JRiddle's thread and discuss everything wrong with the episode like he does.

I loved how that extra got shot and then that extra we've never seen before got killed by a tiger, oh wow the suspense, extra after extra dying in a tragic gunfight. zzz

Hahahaha I cannot like this enough! Does anyone know what side these extras were even on? I take it by the casual blue tee shirts they were part of Alexandria, where not everyone dresses the same. Well done, writers, well done! I'm still on the edge of my seat.

OK, so the majority of us are critical of the finale. Then what?

Offer us your perspective (which you have, somewhat) and let's engage in a debate. What's wrong with that? I haven't told you to leave this thread, simply because that's just not how you exchange ideas. Who are you to tell me to go to another thread where you're suggesting it will be my echo chamber? Have you thought perhaps not all of us are into echo chambers?

You've said the writing was great. I think it's not and I've offered my points why I think it's not. Why not offer us your points to support your view of the writing? This is how we discuss things. You might actually bring something to the table which I never considered before and it might sway my opinion. That's the whole idea!

Yes I know what you want. You're baiting me to argue about the finale. It wouldn't be a debate. It would be an argument. Not really the same thing at all.

Christ on a stick, it's not an attempt to discredit or attack you!! Take a look at another thread in this discussion, where I was corrected on a detail and I THANKED the poster for it!

There is such thing as a civil disagreement. I honestly don't understand why you're thinking the way you are. Maybe you had a bad experience on IMDB but I was definitely not one of those guys!

What am I supposed to say? That I really enjoyed the finale? I did already. And you're going to pick it apart as if you know what you're talking about. I've been through this already with people that have your attitude. I've read the thread.

With my attitude? We don't know each other from a bar of soap but you think you know what my attitude is? That is really rich coming from someone who's telling me to take my conversation over to another thread, as though you rule the roost here. Not cool.

You have proven that you are indeed afraid of a debate, otherwise you wouldn't be so fearful of me picking apart your points. I remind you that you are entitled to pick apart my points as well and I would not take it personally. That is how we mature folk have discussions. When you're ready, feel free to join in.

After finally catching up to this thread, I see why Gigi referred to you as a mini-JRiddle. JR's shtick is to criticize anything that he deems "stupid" by his opinion. Then state it as a fact and then just continue to rain opinion after opinion on you. If you present your own opinion that contradicts his, he'll just dismiss it as erroneous. If you present actual facts to refute his argument, he'll just dismiss the facts as erroneous. Therefore, arguing with JRiddle's is like putting tiny needles into your eye. Not enough to blind you, but enough where you're going to have fucking needles in your eyes.

However, if you're not a JRiddle type, then I would just drop it. Or else this conversation between you two will end up with being a battle to get the last word.
