محادثة The Walking Dead

The walking dead universe seems so small. When Negan is finished I would really love for some of the crew to explore the rest of the world and see whats left.

The communities should finally work and build a safe base for their explorations - seeing another of their homes fall to pieces would bore me to death.

Exciting things to happen:

  • making contact with people from all over the world via satellite ec.
  • exploring the reason behind the virus
  • find locations/areas where not everyone is a gunfighting, human hating monster (ok Alexandria was a start)
  • show whats left of the government.
  • build up communications again.
  • make walkers a believable threat again... haha... ok that one will get difficult.
  • not another human villain

feel free to add stuff ;)

@chrisjdel I love your optimism. Let's hope we'll never have to discover just how vulnerable our Western society is and who knows, maybe TWD will give us a clue as to what is happening in the rest of the world.

Thousands of years of history show that people are tougher than they think. Even those living relatively pampered lives fare better than you might expect when adversity strikes. A lot of bad shit has happened over the centuries - and we're still here, aren't we? Look to Europe during the black plague. Things got very, very ugly but civilization didn't collapse. Properly managed a zombie outbreak wouldn't be nearly as bad. Assuming you didn't get World War Z, Train to Busan style super-fast swarming zombies. That would be a much bigger problem.

If not human then what, aliens?

As opposed to the undead kind. Which don't technically qualify as villains I suppose, you need a mind in order to be evil.

Exactly, it's like saying wolfs or sharks are evil. Does anyone really want self-aware walkers?

True. But I believe many people were more self-sufficient back then and we've constructed a world which is (globally) quite dependent on technology. I think perhaps less developed countries might even be more capable of handling a major crisis (of the size we're talking about in TWD.) But like I said. I hope I'm wrong.

As long as society kept its cool all that technology would continue to function. Low density populations would have it easier. High density ones would have to be organized in their response. So basically, overpopulated areas in third world countries would be screwed. Having leaders get on television and outline what's being done to ensure things stay as normal as possible would be crucial. No secrets or covering up of information. If everyone knows their role, knows what to do and how to protect their family, and if extra food supplies are made available short-term so everyone can stockpile several weeks' worth, there'll be no real panic. The devil you know becomes an inconvenience you can prepare for and plan around. It's the unknown and totally unexpected that freaks people out and makes them sloppy.

Probably, Z Nation is a far superior show :)

I loved the first season of it, but it got less and less exciting. Anyway. It is so over the top, that anything can happen. Sometimes it is almost like a satire on the Zombie genre. So I feel less connected to the characters. Still watching though ;) Hoping for a better season 4.

It IS a satire on the zombie genre...

I think they should seriously consider a multi-season final story arc. Something involving a solution to the zombie plague, the remnants of world governments (probably relocated to clearable islands), and distant communities. Some of which may be bigger than the ones where they are. All those evacuations of civilians may have led to a few major cities walled off and still functional. And we know from what Jenner was saying into his personal log in season 1 that nearly 60 days elapsed between North America being fully engulfed and the first appearance of undead on other continents. Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia - all had two months to prepare and understood the nature of the threat before it hit. Stands to reason some of them must have fared better than the US, possibly a lot better.

I would love to watch that. If they couldn´t do it on the Walking Dead they should maybe consider a second Spin off. Fear the walking dead sadly didn't deliver on that part.

I would love to see anything about the rest of the world.FTWD is trying to do that but so far, we only know about Mexico and So California.

I would like to see some natural disasters , a flood, tornado, hurricanes, ANYTHING that challenges the survivors even more than the walkers.
