I enjoyed TWD more when I watched the episodes on my DVD box sets. It's less satisfying watching newer episodes week by week because the pace is slow and the character actions are frustrating. This is less of an issue when I can watch all the episodes back to back.
I think I'll start skipping a few weeks at a time when the new season appears. It'll require some patience on my part, but I'll enjoy the show more that way.
This is the primary fix. Do this and other flaws soften.
I want better writing, mostly. Too many characters behave like idiots. I'd like for them to migrate as well. If they insist on splitting episodes for side stories then give us a nomad splinter group that is making progress.

There just isn't enough story happening. I noticed that the show started the slowdown trend since the Governor arc but although a bit annoying it was still tolerable. Then a bit worse during season 5 and last season was pretty bad but not completely intolerable. This season they completely went off the rails with it. Story just came to a screeching halt and on top of that when they did have the story going they used the most terrible tropes with that Sasha and Rosita plan. I believe the writers are done. They have no idea how to steer this boat.

Yeah, I could almost tolerate the drag if there were more compelling story elements going on. By this time, I'd like for them to have been forced to move far west, Rick and Michone both dead, and Negan leading the last 8 survivors of the whole imbroglio.

LOL, although sad at least your scenario has an attempt at creativity.

This season has been the worst, with the exception of them getting to Alexandria and Diana. Utterly boring. But I will keep on watching because I am invested in the story. I agree with the migration. They need to move away from this area. It's totally spent, and monotonous. Different landscapes, people, situations, weather problems, natural disasters are needed.
Absolutely. I also want them out of that area. just get them the f**k out! I am sick of the same terrain, same weather ,same everything for seven years.
You might want to check out Fear The Walking Dead then...

I am actually caught up with that one. I dare say that FTWD last season was better than TWD this season but that ain't saying much. FTWD problem is lack of character development or poor character development. You honestly don't give a hoot what happens to anyone in that show.

I disagree. We need Rick in EVERY episode, and new writers and showrunner.

Ha ha! No doubt. At the very least to say some shit like, "Who says I 'll be back? I never said I'd be back."
