Someone posted a link to one of the Walking Dead comics in another thread and I read it. It's the only one I've seen. Yeah, comic Negan is pretty badass. Jeffrey Dean Morgan came close to that character during the premiere and first couple of episodes, after that you see only flashes of it from time to time. He's been more like the leader of any other community lately. Definitely not as cool.

Simon is a bad guy, yes, but you gotta love his smartass attitude and witty dialogue. He's been more entertaining lately than Negan himself. I wonder, if he took over the Saviors, would he start putting "Simon says" before every command? One of those nice touches that says I'm a little nuts so don't screw with me. And would he keep Lucille to use just like Negan did? That seems to be the Saviors' token of leadership. Instead of a crown or a scepter they have their wire-wrapped baseball bat.

Yes! And also incorporate the hokey pokey with those you need to influence/scare. Make them put their right hand in, put their right hand out, put their right hand in *CHOP* before they shake it all about.

A little less theatrical than the iron but it gets the job done.

Agree, the more Simon is on screen, the more his character trumps Negan!! I actually don't like Simon, that's the point of a bad guy, right?? Negan is terrible, but we're sweet on him, little cutie.

The twist of the season is when they find out that Simon is the true leader of the Saviors and Negan is just the face of the Saviors.

The twist is when you realise that Simon and sheri were the same person all along just trying to win Negan's affections both above and beneath the sheets. Then Daryl uncovers the ghost and it turns out to be the old man who used to own the abandoned theme park as Daryl turns to the camera and says "Raggy roo!!"
