No, they definitely pretty boyed him up for the show. In the comics Jesus is like in his mid 30s and ex Green Beret or some sort of special forces. Is he the same good guy as in the show? Yes, but in the comics he is a little more hardened and not so pretty.

Yeah, me too. As a matter of fact, I had just been thinking that he and Maggie might make a good couple after a little more time has passed for her to mourn. I had read that he was gay a long time ago, but I didn't remember it.

I'm just glad in the writers SJW fervor they didn't make him transgender.

We got Tom at LAX Monday where he told us the subtle moment was a long time coming. His character is gay in the comic books and it's also been hinted throughout the season. As for why now, Tom says it has more to do with the show being less about sex and more about kicking zombie ass.>
