After the zombie apocalypse, two vehicles will remain standing: the Ford F150 and the Honda Accord. They are the cockroaches of the automotive world. Disclaimer: this comment refers to everyday vehicles which would be commonly found, exclusive of Peterbuilt trucks, Rolls Royces and John Deere tractors. And Italian sportscars. Oh look! There's a Bugatti! Let's hotwire it and make our escape!

You call them cockroaches, but the engineers who designed them would call it robust and durable. Also, good luck with any Italian automobile surviving an apocalypse. Let's just say, if you need to hire a full time mechanic to keep that car running, I very much doubt you'll be able to start one up after it hasn't been touched for a while.

I think they're durable, too. I have them both. Nothing tougher than a cockroach.

80's to early 90's Volvo DL series would be the best to have. They are reliable and are built like a tank. They are actually quiet commen on San Diego Coast. A lot of surfers want them because of those reasons , well mainly the station wagons, of the space for boards and you can sleep in the back no problem. You can haul a ton of supplies.
