Sadly, Morgan's pacifistic ways came to a screeching halt when he killed Richard. I wanted to cry seeing a good man descend into madness, but I had an idea this would happen when Richard's duplicity precipitated in the death of Morgan's protege, Benjamin. Morgan tried hard to walk the pacifist path, and in some ways, he walked that path to the detriment of his peers. Since Morgan became a regular on the show, I've wanted him to drop his pacifism because the world in which he lived dictated it. Mankind turned feral because of the zombie apocalypse, and Morgan seemed out of place in it with his do no harm to living human beings.
I understand why Morgan lost it tonight. Morgan viewed Benjamin as a son, and I saw that from early on in the season. So, when the young man died, I knew Morgan would wrestle with his pacifism, and I'm glad his killer instinct won.

Richard showed remorse when Benjamin was shot, and I think we saw that. He asked the guy to kill him, and he immediately turned the gun on the kid. I think Richard thought he could control the situation, but he failed at that. When Morgan told Richard to hurry up, you could visibly see the distraught look on his face. This is the reason why I was torn on if he should die or not. But when Richard was talking to Morgan, it was clear that he was trying to justify what he did. The remorse that he demonstrated earlier didn't register with Morgan. That's for sure.

I agree, too. He's the reason Morgan is one of my favorite characters on the show.

The only problem with Morgan trying to kill the so-called "Saviors" one by one when he sees them, is they have guns, while he has a stick with a sharp end on it.

I wonder how Morgan is going to react when he finds out that Carol wants to go to war.

After his martial arts training and who knows how long spent honing those skills on the road, Morgan is a guy you definitely wouldn't want to go up against mano a mano. One at a time kills against what are basically untrained thugs wouldn't pose much risk to his life. On the other hand, it would take years to get all the Saviors that way. And sooner or later a group of them (whose leader isn't quite as dumb as you generally hope your enemies are) will set a trap and lure him into an ambush. When you keep on pushing your luck it eventually runs out. You never know when or where, but it will.
They certainly don't have years, or even months, to deal with the Savior problem. I guess the question with Morgan is: are Dalai Lama and Hannibal Lecter modes the only available settings, or can the dial be somewhere in between?

Nope. Just Dalai Lama and Hannibal Lecter. We only though Morgan was sane. He was just hiding better than most.

There's a definite family resemblance there. I wonder if Madison is doing anything these days. Haven't seen her since TWD. Her older sister Mackenzie was in Under the Dome; too bad the second season of that show was so boring, because season 3 was the strongest one of all and the setup for season 4 looked really cool. Oh well. Awfully hard to win back viewers once you've lost them.

No one is completely sane in PTSD world. But we're left to ponder the meaning of Morgan undoing what Eastman did to his stick, turning it back into a spear. Has he abandoned the way of peace completely or just making an exception where the Saviors are concerned?

Lennie James and Melissa McBride are the two best actors on the show. She should be getting Emmy noms.

Lennie James did such a phenomenal job in the pilot that the fans were demanding his return. He had me crying when he had his wife in his sights, but couldn't pull the trigger.

These awards shows have to keep a certain "profile." She'll never get a nom as long as she's on a show about the Zombie Apocalypse.
