Discuter de The Walking Dead

It has one of the best characters on the show's history in Negan, but this is by far the worst season ever and it doesn't look like it's going to improve any time soon. The writing is completely garbage, spending all their efforts on the premieres and finales. There are just way too many filler episodes. Why can't they craft episodes to tell multiple story arcs until it all ties together? This can prevent the full boring episodes (like over half of them this season) and still get their filler nonsense out of the way. Are the writers lazy, incompetent or just don't care about the product? Having anything to do with Tara wouldn't be so bad if the next scene was Negan beating someone to a pulp... or follow the boring Hilltop with Rick and Michonne fending off a dozen walkers. Everything will tie into each other regardless but there's got to be a better way to get there. I'm not completely done with TWD yet... but I'm close.

I may be in the minority but I enjoyed Season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead more than this...stuff happened!

Walking Dead became a soap opera with zombies when they refused to kill off fan favourites.

I haven't watched the show regularly since Season 5 (I still watch the premieres and finales and some episodes here and there, but not on a regular basis). I basically just watch it see updates on the characters. I haven't cared for their writing style for a long time. I really hate how they set up a really interesting storyline and then pan away from it for multiple episodes at a time to focus on other, far less interesting (at least to me), characters and storylines. They really dropped the ball with Negan imo.

I agree, this is the worst season so far and both Negan the character and JDM have a huge part in this. Bottle episodes aside, Negan is just a one note character, a bad mix of a 13th years old and a politician. JDM acting with his backward slump and costant swaying is quite annoying.

To be fair they did actually do this much to my amazement in the last episode:- Rick & Michone's summer vacation
Tara's Alexandria procrastinating
Quick swing by the ever absent hilltoppers
Return visit to the garbage patch kids

Maybe they've realised that people have had enough of these one or two character bottle episodes...

Although I think I read next week is a Carol "catch up" 😯

But Glenn and Abraham were fan favorites. They're dead.

Their deaths were following the comic’s storyline, although Abraham died earlier, Carol died in the comic’s ages ago, and so did the child, but AMC won’t kill them off anytime soon.

Characters created just for the show should be fair game and killed anytime and often to add to the excitement and to show the hopeless unpredictability of living in a savage post-apocalyptic world.

Take Daryl Dixon as an example, he’s a cool character and played by a decent actor but AMC really should have the balls to kill him off. But he’s the Fonz of the show.

It’s probably why I enjoyed season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead more than this seasons Walking Dead, it’s not based on a comic, so I don’t know who dies and they can kill any character at any time.

IMO, this show peaked with the Terminus episodes and resulting aftermath. The scene with Rick, Daryl and Glenn at the trough ready to be slaughtered was the most intense scene of the series, much more so than the Glenn/Abraham death scene. I still like the show but it is not event TV for me anymore.

I'm with you. I'm about done. Took me this long to complete the episode as I could only handle 15 minutes at a time. There was once a time when I would actually drop everything I was doing to watch this show live. Those days are long gone.

yeah it's pretty weak this year, unfortunately.

I rather liked the past season , too. I am in the minority that I really like "Nick". I find him interesting IRL too.

Are you on drugs? Negan and JDM is the best thing to happen to the show for at least two seasons. He's the only thing interesting, other than maybe Rick, at this point.

For some reason the trough scene is the only scene in this show I had to look away. The suspense mixed with the violence actually made me quite nauseous, but in a good way. Nothing is really that exciting anymore.
