He is a coward ( as he clearly states earlier in the episode) of course he is "Negan" and has always been. he will do or say anything to stay alive.

I thought the same thing, but then they went over the scene where he was walking away with a smirk on his face. This is the place Eugene can really thrive. He doesn't have to scavenge, go out of the walls, be in danger, and has a crew of goons to keep him alive cause of his importance to Negan. Basically, as long as Negan lives, he gets to live the life he always needed.

I'm not convinced that he is not just playing a game. He knows the answers he has to give. I think his fear is real, but his ability to navigate complex environments is one of his strong-suits. Remember how long he led the group to no-where? He has the ability to be who people need him to be...Negan or not.

I think he's Negan becaus since Eugene came on the show, he sought after others to take care of him due to respect. He knows his limitations. He understands that he's a coward when it comes to violent confrontations. In Rick's group, Eugene was sort of a liability, a scared dork. His worth was in combat-which he isn't good at whereas with The Saviors, he has an elevated status as a technical genius, has respect and wants for nothing.

Hes Negan always has and will be to stay alive!He will jump ship when it goes bad but also kill Rick and hes gang if it ends badly for them.He played Abraham and hes doing it to Negan too.Eugene is afraid badly(Hes not good people to trust)and there could be a slight revenge for Abraham so he could try sowing the seeds of doubt and tell Negan whos gonna off him so he will throw those people in the fire.Forget that he aint James Bond!Hes a scared coward

Eugene is definitely NOT Negan!

He's doing what he has to...to survive. Eugene and Abraham had a great bond with each other. Eugene is buying time. He hasn't forgotten how Abraham was brutally killed. That sh*it can't sit well with him.
