Oceanside. Tara will keep them out of it and stay true to her promise. However, somehow they will hear about a war that is raging and they will charge in at the right moment and they will be considered the true saviours. The leader's granddaughter will convince them by saying...see, Tara never lead them to us. Even though they need our help. She will be so compelling that everyone will be in agreement.

They essentially have a huge axe to grind with Negan for killing all the males in their group. It will be time for a monumentous payback that is long overdue from wounds still not fully healed.

If we assume Oceanside has scouts out there, perhaps living in places like The Kingdom and Hilltop, they will find out about Rick's efforts to create an Alliance against the Saviors. If he makes enough progress and the people at Oceanside decide he has a fighting chance of actually beating Negan then they may decide to throw in and just show up with a sizable force and lots of guns, right when they're most needed.

You are absolutely right. Yes, they wanted her dead because they feared she would give away their location. Had she agreed to stay...they would have given her a home.
