Just checked out another board and..."I SEE TROLLS".
Weed smoking, video game playing, living in parents basement, B-word talking TROLLS. 👺👺👺
I think we may need to escalate the, "REPORT, IGNORE" request. We may also need to put in a request marked "EXILE" and shoot 🔫 them into space 🚀🌕 👽 like what they did to the villains 🕵on Krypton with the clear floating disc in space.
Seems like an argument may be in the works between new comers that just arrived today.
The honeymoon 👰💑 period is coming to a close quickly. ⏳
Note: Weed 🌿😧 smoking 🚬 optional...due to medicinal purpose. 🤔

Even I had said somewhere that IMDB had turned into a commercial for Amazon. The whole political aspect was amusing to say the least. We could speculate all day as to the exact reason why they closed down, but we'll never know the complete truth.

Agreed, it's about greed! 😆

I never implied you were a troll. My apologies if that's the way it sounded. Just that the whole idea of culling the trolls being too effort-intensive and costly to sustain is a self serving one that initially got out there because trolls want people to believe that. Yes, if you're a small operator running your own board paid mods are a real expense. For a site the size of IMDB and a company as big as Amazon the numbers get lost in all the other expenses and revenues associated with the page. It's barely a blip on the radar.
IMDB turns a blind eye to this problem for years and then tries blaming it for a decision they made on entirely different grounds. What you need to understand about corporations is: they can and do lie. Unless some kind of contract is involved, or they're defrauding you out of money, it's not illegal for companies to lie. They can make up stories about why they're raising prices for instance, and even if you prove they're spouting BS there are no legal consequences. It may be a sleazy practice but they haven't broken any laws. There really is no incentive for major corporations to be honest with the public when the truth would be poorly received. Always keep that in the back of your mind when you're listening to official statements. Who knows how much of what they're saying is an accurate portrayal of reality?

Again chrisjdel, thanks for the time and effort that went into your response. And I say this with kind and gentle intentions: if you knew my my feelings on corporate America (think Matt Taibbi) you would have spent less time preparing it. As for your implications, I'd rather have you think me a troll than a defender of sly corporate business practices. I'm an old retired government employee familiar with a lot life's bullshit. No, I'm not calling you a bullshitter. Actually, I can tell you're intelligent in addition to being very well-spoken. You also seem like a nice guy.

Why thank you. And actually, I write lengthy reports all the time so that took me all of two minutes. Government bureaucracies are probably the only organizations on Earth even more full of shit than private corporations. If you've worked in that arena, I have no doubt you're more familiar than you care to contemplate with every form of BS there is. I only wish more people out there questioned what they were told instead of taking it at face value.

Ditto.
And given the state of the current white house administration, I can only hope that people are exercising their rights and taking the ⏳ time to fact ✔ check EVERYTHING they're being told. 🤔
That office has been devalued since January 20th and continues to spin out of control every single day.

I literally don't see how things can go on this way for four years. Something has to give.

You are so right Chris!
What that "give" is...no one knows and only precious time will tell.

Internet trolls are basically sociopaths, narcissists, and sadists.

I feel your pain; I've been conned myself. Never regret an act of kindness. Even when the recipient is an asshole. 😆

It's funny, when I started out, I was trained to make the truth more palatable by dissembling. Then came the age of transparency in government, when I learned that a lot of people really couldn't handle the truth. No doubt the new policy is to provide "alternative facts".

Yay! 😀
We have an IGNORE button. That's gonna come in so handy. 🛠
I can think of one troll 👺 in particular already. Everyone already knows who he is.

Trolls are what the ignore button was designed for. Haven't had to use it yet, but I've no doubt that I will.
