She went from being this shy little mouse letting her sloppy husband beat the shit outta her to giving kids advice how to sneak through the woods like a green beret. All the while holding the rifle as awkwardly as you would expect a hippie would. Someone please show this actress how to handle a weapon. You surely can't pretend you are Rambo if you can't act like you know how to hold a rifle.
My point is this character is badly written. I think it is a waste of screen time for a show that suffers horribly from terrible pacing. Just either get rid of her or throw her in the mix with the rest of the crowd. She surely doesn't need her own spin off.

Was that Carol being a badass? Wow! I guess some people just don't know how to call it with their little board meltdowns.

I thought Carl was rather bad-ass, as well. The minute walker-Sasha tumbled out of that coffin, Carl whipped around without hesitation and shot the traitor scavengers behind him. Impressive battle instincts.

Gavin runs one of their outposts and wasn't there with his people. Yeah I'd like to see Jesus 2 become meow mix for Shiva. On the plus side, Gavin's absence means that Negan has no idea who those crazy people with the laser tag armor and the tiger are, or where they're from.

Yes! That was a badass move. My favorite actually from the episode.
Very good call.

I'm sure Negan knows who Ezekiel is -- the two of them have a deal as to what kind of tribute the Kingdom gives him. But clearly, judging from his words, he didn't know about the TIGER....

I doubt Negan and Ezekiel have ever met. The deal was made with Gavin. Normally Negan doesn't involve himself with recruiting new communities, Alexandria being an exception because of all the trouble they caused. The Kingdom is in Gavin's area of responsibility. As long as things go smoothly there's no reason why anyone from the Sanctuary would have to come out there. We won't know for sure until next season, but I don't think the Saviors know (at least not yet) who those reinforcements were.

Simon has been to Hilltop so he knows that group. Negan recognized "the widow," Maggie.

Yes, Simon would've recognized some of the Hilltop folks when they came charging in to the rescue. Negan of course remembered Maggie. She was "the sick one" poor wounded Glenn had some heartfelt last words for before Lucille claimed her second victim of the night. For now no one knows about the Kingdom or Oceanside - their potential ace in the hole, since it's people rather than guns that seem like the limiting factor now. If he's smart, Rick will send out parties in the direction away from the Sanctuary to find and enlist some new communities in his crusade. Negan doesn't have the numbers to end the war quickly. Defeat still looms for Alexandria in the fullness of time though, unless they do something about the Saviors' numerical superiority.

RE: Carol. Melissa McBride is the best actress on that show so I'd like to see more of her. The writing has taken a bit of a nosedive this season.

You've heard of people biting off more than they could chew. Well the writers created the opposite problem for themselves this season, 16 episodes and not nearly enough story. So we ended up with too much filler. Every episode had some good stuff; but unfortunately, sandwiched between long stretches of material that seemed like it was there just to burn up time. Several of the show's executive producers have mentioned that fans were frustrated with the slow pace this year, so hopefully they get the message and won't do it again in season 8.

Yeah I totally agree. Watching the finale tonight, I noticed how much the scenes were padded out without any character development. I mean, they've tried to make Rosita more fleshed out but she's been a complete dud.

Rosita has no surpassed Carol in badassness. I hope she recovers soon. But the actress is 9 months pregnant so hopefully she will be back to filming in time. I dunno.

Rosita doesn't hold a candle to Carol in terms of 'badassness'. I want more Carol and less Rosita next season!

Give her time. It took Carol 4 seasons to become a badass. Rosita is already doing stuff before Carol ever had enough nerve to.
