Why did he look upset when J and D were getting it on towards the end? Is he in love with D? He teased her about Jon in ep 5. Just thought it was a bit odd as there were no indication he had those kind of feelings for her.

Great Q.
I was thinking the exact same thing. One of the many questions I had on the episode.
It was actually strange. I thought that he is either in love with her or.....idk.
At first I thought it was mormont when the camera started from his back lol.

I don't think he's in love with her. Tyrion has a... type. And she's not it.
If I had to guess I think it's concern. Dany seemed to rely heavily on Tyrion's council, and as soon as Jon shows up she starts ignoring Tryion's advice and risking herself to help Jon even at the cost of a dragon, and now they're sleeping together. Tyrion's influence is diminishing with every episode Jon and Dany are together.
I think Tyrion is worried about being replaced.

Speaking of Tyrion, one of my favorite parts of the episode was when he starts pounding wine after the mountain might've kill him lol. He also had some good drama scenes finally too there after seemingly only just being present for what feels like forever compared to his earlier seasons where he had lots of more dramatic scenes. He hasn't been comedy relief like he would early on, but this episode he had some funny parts.

I think cswood is on to something there. I don't think Tyrion is in love with Dany at all. It's that his influence over her is diminishing.

Thanks all. You raise great points about his council. As Tyrion was saying to Cercie, he influenced Dany not too do more harm to the Lannisters, so maybe he feels he can't influence anymore. Good news is Jamie is keeping his promise and finally seeing Cercie for what she is.
Thank you again as this was really puzzling me.

Michelle_Dessler I think Jamie will be the one to kill Cersei.

I've always thought that too because Tyrion being the brother to do what the prophecy stated is too obvious. I also think she will have a miscarriage before it gets to that stage.

I thought it was Mormont too. Such a great episode overall and I'm so SO glad the git Littlefinger is dead. When he was talking to Sansa trying to turn her against her sister, I was shouting at the tele saying how she can listen to him. I was thinking last week that her and Arya were doing a plan but did get thrown off the sent until she looked at Littlefinger and said his name. I cheered. 😆

Ha. Mormont. He had the biggest crush on her.
Yeah, I have to admit that chills went down my spine when Sansa turned to her side and said "Lord Baelish", even though I suspected he was going to get it. Good acting in that scene by Sophie Turner. I wish I hadn't glanced at some spoilers accidentally; it might have been even better.

I thought Tyrion was a bit creepy, skulking around the corridor outside Dany's cabin. It was almost as if he was a voyeur. But he seemed to sense an attraction between them right from the beginning, so perhaps he is just pleased to see his plans coming to fruition?

I also thought it was Mormont first. I also think that Tyrion is really worried about the future and that Daenerys' feelings for Jon will cloud her judgement. In the previous (two?) episodes Jon said all the right things and she couldn't wait to pound him.
I absolutely enjoyed this episode. (Though the destruction of the wall was a bit over the top. A smaller whole would have sufficed. It was only one dragon after all...)

I think Tyrion needs Dany to be focused on one thing and one thing only, what they've been fighting for together, their common goal, to place her on the Iron Throne. Jon is a distraction, she can't afford to fall in love. Her companions must be purposeful and loyal, not used for lust and romance. That makes her weak. That's what I got out of Tyrion's look anyway.

Stop overanalyzing this. This isn't complex story telling anymore. Tyrion was just creeping, okay? He was just creeping under some stairs, just chillin'.

I thought he was concerned like - uh oh, this will not end well..don't need additional drama! As what Hercules said...people do crazy things when they fall in love
