I assume they all had valyrian steel/dragon glass. Why do you think they didn't?

It's one of the many details that makes the whole expedition ridiculous: they were too few; hardly carried any provisions; took no ravens; most of them had no means to make fire; although they knew dragonglass could kill white walkers, did not bother to arm themselves with.

Oh, and of course: it was crazy to think that Cersei would agree to make a truce and join forces to fight the army of dead. Anyone who knew Cersei even slightly could tell that.

With the exception of Jon, they all appeared to have regular bladed weapons expect for Beric's fire sword.

When we saw Sam use dragon glass a few seasons back to kill a white walker, it distingrated into many little parts. But last night they appeared to be just to be slashing and bashing them with regular weapons. They weren't distingrating or crumbling.

I believe one of them had a knife made of dragonglass, remember the scene where they killed the one leader he disintegrated and the rest of his troupe disintegrated, was that a dragonglass weapon?

The white walker and his followers disintegrated when Jon hit the white walker with Long Claw, the Valyrian steel sword that Lord Commander Mormont gave him. I believe it is only the white walkers themselves that are affected this way with Valyrian steel and dragon glass. The rest of the undead army that Jon struck with his sword did not disintegrate the same way.

Why was that though if the sword worked then, but afterwards it seemed no better than a regular Valyrian steel sword, as it wasn't REALLY killing them for good I don't think, just putting them down for much longer time period. That's what I didn't get. I haven't rewatched it yet and saw it days ago so it's worth a rerun even if just for the latter half, I'd like to see that whole battle scene again .

I guess Valyrian steel has a much stronger effect against the W.W.'ers, but dragon glass is the one and only TRUE WW'er weapon other than fire of course. So whatever WW'ers that didn't burn were most likely all resurrected by the Night King afterwards. As he tends to send his army out in waves, tiring the enemy out and when they're catching their breath another wave comes while at the same time the first wave is being resurrected.

Bottom line is get a sh!t load of dragon glass, as far as we know they haven't even attempted to start mining the crap never mind weapon manufacturing time, hopefully that mining has been started and they're beginning to amass some weapons, daggers seem to be best.

Dragon glass works wonders on white walkers, but just chops the undead like any other blade. The key here is understanding that the undead are NOT white walkers, and unless you burn them or kill the ww controlling them they will still keep twitching.

The Hound also carried an axe made of dragonglass, or something similar. It didn't look like it was made of metal.
