Discuss มหาศึกชิงบัลลังก์

Jamie's an interesting complex character, but I've never really liked him. If he were killed off I would only miss him in relation to Cersei's character. I've been rewatching the first two seasons and been reminded at how much of a smug prick he come off as, but there's one thing I don't get.

When he's captured by Robb and Cat is talking to him, he reveals he's never been with anyone besides Cersei so that makes him more faithful than Ned. How exactly has a handsome man from a rich family not have women constantly chasing after him? Why has his father never tried to find him a wife to expand the family's influence (especially since he hates Tyrion)?

When the show starts Jamie's at least in his 30s and still single and never seen with a woman that's not Cersei. How is he not at least screwing a woman ever now and then just to dodge gay rumors since being gay is clearly not accepted in this society? This has always bugged me but I forgot about it until I started rewatching the series.

Ned was 100% faithful.

Jamie was in the kingsguard, which meant he can take no wife

Well yeah WE know Ned was faithful. wink

Wait, so was Jamie still in the kingsguard even after he killed the Mad King? Because if I were Robert I think maybe I'd move Jamie to a position where my life didn't depend on him even if I thought what he did was right. That would be like a member of the secret service killing the president and then the next president keeping that guy on. Nope nope nope.

if secret service guy would kill don trump the next president would give him highest rank. Jaimie didnt killed a king.. he killed a MAD king

There used to be a lot of graphic sex scenes in this show but not anymore. Why?

Because Robert had to throw some bone to the Lannisters, whether he liked it or not. That's also the reason he married Cersei.

The Mad King allegedly named Jaime to the Kingsguard to deprive Tywin of his chosen heir, like Tywin threatened Lady Olenna to do with Loras in Season 3. Keeping him there was not "throwing a bone to the Lannisters" and we saw Tywin try to force him to resign in Season 4. We are left to guess that Jaime wanted to stay so he could be around Cersei even though the show tells us she wanted nothing else but a working relationship with Robert at the time. We must assume he was the driving force in the twincest, which is inline with Cersei warning Sansa about love: "The more people you love, the weaker you are. You'll do things for them that you know you shouldn't do. You'll act the fool to make them happy, to keep them safe." She was speaking about Jaime.
