It seemed almost as if the Dog knew what she said to it and that made the Dog leave the scene. Why? I don't get it.

It's very obvious that it was Nymeria, since besides Ghost all the other ones are dead. But where it goes from there, I don't know.

I believe the dogs have outlived their purpose. I suspect we won't be seeing any more than a few token appearances of any dogs in the future.
