Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is the daughter of the "The Mad King" whom Robert overthrew before the series began. She and her brother Viserys were raised in exile from Westeros for their safety. Viserys arranged the marriage between Dany and Khal Drogo. In exchange, the Dothraki were to provide an army for Viserys to reclaim the Iron Throne as the heir of Aerys Targaryen. Robert's only involvement with Dany is ordering her assassination when he learned that she was pregnant.

I don't know if you are starting from the beginning or have caught up with the current episodes, so the following contains spoilers from season 6. You may not want to read if your aren't caught up.

Jon Snow is was revealed to be the son of Lyanna Stark, Ned's sister and not Ned's illegitimate son, as we were originally told. It hasn't been stated explicitly in the series, but it is a long-held theory from the books and assumed based on the Lyanna reveal that Jon's father is Rhaegar Targaryen, the son of "the Mad King" and older brother of Daenerys. This would make Jon the grandson of the Mad King and heir to the Iron Thron, and to answer your original question, Emilia Clarke's character would be related to Jon by being his aunt.

Aha. I see. That makes sense. Thanks a lot. (and I didn't read the S6 but appreciate it anyway, ha. Yes I'm starting from scratch, and am currently on S2E3.)

Btw, I must say Amelia Clarke is the best thing about this show in that all of her scenes and her story have been the most interesting to watch so far. Other stories are good, but every time she's on the screen it's my favorite part. Thanks again.

As for Littlefinger, he married Sansa's aunt and then murdered her. So you might say that he's Sansa's creepy uncle. Very creepy.

Actually I'm all caught up. I binge watched the 63 episodes in about 4 days.

Not sure what you mean about season 2 and a huge spoiler. He's been sneaking around since early season 1

Earlier in this thread, original poster said that he was only on season 2 episode 3). Your reply contained a spoiler from season 3 that Littlefinger married Sansa's aunt and a spoiler from season 4 that Littlefinger murdered his new wife. There's no damage done since OP is all caught up, but some people get very upset when they are given spoilers with no warnings, especially when they have already indicated exactly how far into the series they are.

Sorry. He did ask whom he was related to, and that required some explanation
