What do you think about Jon's decision to go himself to Dragonstone?
I think it was unwise. By going there instead of sending an envoy, it may give the impression Jon is lower than Daenerys, that he obeys her summoning, although he does not intend to bend his knee.
Besides, Daenerys hates the Starks as she hates the Lannisters (according to the novels). She forgave Tyrion, but what guarantee Jon has that she will forgive him too?

I think I see the way out of the JON/Dany impasse: what if SAM told MORMONt about the WHITE walkers and the dragonglass? Then MORMONt tells Dany. Dany now has independent confirmation of JOn's story.

That would be the Dothraki who are afraid of the "poisoned water" and see no beauty in an Iron Throne.
Indeed! It's all leading up to a great show! So exciting!

I was really surprised that Sam didn't say anything while Mormont was getting dressed. (But we don't know what Sam said the night he cured Mormont.)

Also, did Sam know who Mormont was? If not, it is perfectly reasonable that someone like Sam would not want to think about that, especially in a private moment of triumph shared between the two (the conquering of the disease).
I also agree with the nazi above (oh no, I'm triggered!!!!!) that the show is really heating up, and despite other complaints about the plot on some of the other threads, I am really enjoying the later seasons and where this might be going. Plus, characters are finally meeting up! Very exciting and I'm enjoying the hell out of the show!

Sam worked with a relative of Mormont's at the wall. Not clear whether Sam knows anything about Danny

This appears to have been a missed opportunity here. There are not many episodes left. There was a golden opportunity here for Sam and Jorah to learn more about each other especially about the White Walkers. Jorah could then relay the information back to Dany and this would help expedite the need for her and Tyrion to be aware of the threat.

I think Mormont and Sam are both unaware that Daenerys is on Dragonstone. Sam was the one who learned that dragonglass can be found there and informed Jon. If Sam had known that Mormont is going to Daenerys on Dragonstone then surely he would have said something. (And Sam knows that the old commander Mormont was Jorah's father.)
Either they discussed this off screen or it will take a little longer before someone puts two and two together.

Maybe. Unless I missed something we didn't hear them discuss anything about dragon glass or the White Walkers, right?
