Is Aria becoming too fond of violence to be considered a protagonist? As I watched her ruthless execution of House Frey, I can't help but wonder if my 7 year old child, whom her Mother and I have named "Arya" after the Game of Thrones character, should or shouldn't be watching this show.
I understand that some violence is to be expected, and so I have censored certain episodes (e.g. The Red Wedding) for my Arya's viewing pleasure as it is quite popular among her peers at school. This is the first time we have allowed her to watch a live episode, and we are very frightened that she might have gotten the wrong message about Aria.
We want Aria to be a strong female hero who does the right thing and is pure of heart, like Sansa. But the Walder Frey murder was gratuitously violent, and then last episode pushed me over the edge.

Yeah it's all G playa playa. This show is perfect for kids. I mean you should totally throw in bonus role play for them. Remember the scene we never got to see of Mountain raping that dudes wife/kid. I'm sure your wife/kids would love that too....
Jeebuth Chrith. SMMotherfuckingH When you're done with GoT you should teach them Science Bitch! Learning to cook with Uncle White....

In my country, Australia, it's perfectly acceptable to talk about and inquire as to what others let their kids do. Either you're trolling really well or have the wrong idea about me. I like jokes and took some of these threads as jokes, because again, in Australia, it's not acceptable to let kids watch GoT and I thought this would be the standard all around the globe. So thus I thought it was a joke. Still not sure if you're trolling because new to these boards....
If you are trolling, I should let you know I own a black belt in IMDB beat downs where flame retard-ant suits helped me prevail victorious. Thus I look forward to more. If not, you can just ignore this.

You should think before you speak. Your initial responses were rude, and so you were treated with rudeness in kind. Game of Thrones taught me this, and I taught my daughter it as well, and on and on it will go. Now shut that weeping little vagina you call a mouth the f-ck up, peasant.

"but wonder if my 7 year old child, whom her Mother and I have named "Arya" after the Game of Thrones character, should or shouldn't be watching this show."
The show is rated TV-MA in the US. basically meaning "recommended for adults only". I suspect it has similar ratings in other countries, particularly since the US rating board is sometimes accused of going easy on Violence. (Interestingly, one problem they have had with production is that the child actors -- Arya, Sansa, Bran, Shireen, and Lyanna Mormont -- have to be sent off set when "adult" scenes are filmed. When recording commentary for the DVD set Maisee could be heard saying "My directions say to fast-forward through the next scene. I guess somebody's naked." Somebody was -- the Queen Margery actress )

We don't consider violence to be a bad thing per se. It's when it's violence for the sake of violence where we run into trouble with Aria.
Little Arya wants to emulated television Aria and that becomes a problem when one of this show's most popular princesses is turned into some kind of homicidal maniac. Aria is not Dexter. Hopefully she will be on the right path, figuratively and literally as she travels home to kill Sansa.
