Loved the Arya/Tywin scenes at Harrenhal. I also hate the way Stannis was portrayed.

I love how Cersei was turned into a real person instead of being a caricature in the books. This applies to many other characters like Varys or Jorah but it really gave its value to the show. I hate how Daenerys was turned into an invincible superhero and Tyrion into an all around good guy telling flat jokes.

Yeah Cersei really loses her shit in AFFC & ADWD. In fact both her and Tyrion seem to drink themselves into AA candidacy, and become very bitter and petty. It appears as if according to the released chapters of WOW that tyrion cleans up a little but we haven't seen that yet from Cersei. It's possible GRRM hadn't finished any of her chapters yet or to release any would give us too great of a reveal. In the show she seemed to get over the loss of her son a bit faster and almost showed no emotion for the loss of her daughter. That may also be a case of screen time allotment per character.
Totally agree on being tired of Dany the invincible, wow moment, I am woman hear me roar, power one liner dropping, perfect hair after anything antics.

What you have seen from Cersei in the show is the "realisation" that her prophecy is coming true, in spite of Jaime's comforting words. When Tommen walks in in S6E02 and tells her Myrcella was burried in a golden shroud, Cersei no longer sees him, cannot bear to look at him. She "knows" he's gone too, which is why she barely tries to influence him all along the season. When Tommen finally dies, she is not surprised. Joffrey's death, on the other hand, almost destroyed her.

And by the way, Cersei does tone down and clean up after the Walk of Atonement in ADWD. She spends her time with Tommen and acts all meek in a way which doesn't even appear devious. She is broken in both cases.

Been a while since the last reread but I thought she was getting hammered with aurane waters late in the book.

She seems quite changed after the Walk.

Selmy's death was such a let down and seemed cheap. Since he's still alive in the books, and was a bad as*.

Agreed. I read he(the actor) pleaded to not have his run on the show ended that way but d&d decided to move on from him regardless of his book status... to make way for tyrion I supposes, otherwise they looked at is as too many chefs in the broth.

Also the omission of Strong Belwas was a mistake imo.

I wouldn't change much, but what I would change, is the time it's taking for George R. R. Martin, to write the damn books... I wish we could lock him in a room, with his computer, until he finishes them!!!

That's a whole other thread Candie but I don't think we'll ever get the last one.

Wasn't overly fond of Selmy's death and I prefer the Mountain in the books.

I like that they cast older actors to play the roles. I never cared for how young the characters were in the books. I know it's supposed to be an alternate universe, but picturing most of the main characters as young children and teenagers was a little off-putting for me. Especially Dany and Robb. Tyrion and Cersei's storylines are significantly better, and Jon Snow is a lot more interesting to me on the show. Jon Snow's storyline bored me to tears in the books; it was SO slow-moving.
