Item: Indefensible: How Men Get Off (1x7)
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: There are two shows: “True Crime Story: It Couldn’t Happen Here” and “True Crime Story: Indefensible”. They are related, but very different. TCS:ICHH has aired one season of six episodes so far, was renewed, and season two starts September 1. TCS:I had one season of six episodes, and, as of now, has no future episodes planned. Your database combines both series under TCS:ICHH, with episodes 1-6 belonging to TCS:ICHH, and episodes 7-12 belonging to TCS:I. Also, there appears to already be a separate record in your database for TCS:I, so perhaps the records are duplicated.

They were aired as part of the same series: the first 6 episodes were "It Couldn't Happen Here" and the last 6 were "Indefensible."

Thank you for the quick response. That may have been the case when they originally aired, but Sundance now lists them separately (https://www.sundancetv.com/shows/true-crime-story-it-couldn-t-happen-here--1033484). I still contend that these two should be separated, as both IMDB and TheTVDB have them. As I said, there is already a separate record for Indefensible in your system, although not all episodes are listed.

No, they're spin-offs of each other like Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. They're not the same show. They aired back to back but each had their own two seasons independent of each other.

As visible in the Sundance archived page provided by @raze464 above, they were considered by Sundance as one single series.

They recently renewed TCS: ICHH for a third season, and announced a third series called TCS: Citizen Detective. (https://www.amcnetworks.com/press-releases/sundancetv-expands-popular-true-crime-story-franchise-with-renewal-of-it-couldnt-happen-here-hosted-by-hilarie-burton-morgan-and-greenlights-for-two-new-series/)
By keeping everything under one series, it is an absolute train wreck.

That’s incorrect, lol. I work at AMC which owns Sundance and they’re treated as separate series. Each will be getting a third season and “Look Into My Eyes” isn’t a “True Crime Story” series at all. It’s its own separate miniseries. IMDB has it correctly: they have each listed as a separate series.

Exactly! It’s like counting all 20+ seasons of each Law & Order show as one series when they’re just different off-shoots of the same franchise. “True Crime Story” is a franchise and there’s two (soon to be three) completely different series. I don’t know why mods are fighting on this so much. The way it’s listed here is incorrect. In our system ICHH and Indefensible are both considered separate. One just filled the same time slot as the other once it ended.

The first episode of the upcoming "Look Into My Eyes" series is listed as S01E27 on the schedule page and the second one as S01E28. If you actually work at AMC, then you should already know that all episodes are listed a being part of a single series, as shown by the archived page I provided in August 2022. We ultimately list episodes based on how they're added to the network's website.
It's not the same thing. The Law & Order shows have been listed as separate shows but this one is being used as an umbrella term for 2 (and soon to be 3) separate storylines (It Couldn't Happen Here, Indefensible, and Look Into My Eyes).
Not according to the official SundanceTV website.
Because we don't want revisionism. All episodes have been listed as being part of a single season on the official SundanceTV and that's how they should be listed on here as well.

I actually work at AMC and am looking at what we’re airing next week right now and it says S1E1. That’s straight from Sundance. “Look Into My Eyes” is its own miniseries. I don’t know why you’re fighting this so much. I’m not about to get myself fired to give you whatever “proof” you need to believe me, but you’re wrong. Those sites aren’t accurate but what we’re told to air by the networks is and the network has them airing as three separate TV shows. Two are part of a franchise (“True Crime Story”) and one is a completely different miniseries from that same franchise (“Look Into My Eyes”).
It’s not “revisionism.” It’s called correcting a mistake that was made.
This is a weird hill for you to die on but if you’re going to keep fighting, look at this official AMC site that refers to Look Into My Eyes as “Season 1” of its own show and you can read that it explicitly states that it is part of a franchise: https://www.amcstudiosinternational.com/catalog/18117
Here is another AMC official site also referring to all of these shows as SEPARATE parts of one franchise. ICHH was renewed but I don’t think Indefensible was. Citizen Detective is a new show coming out soon and it explicitly states that Look Into My Eyes is a separate, limited series from the franchise: https://www.amcnetworks.com/press-releases/sundancetv-expands-popular-true-crime-story-franchise-with-renewal-of-it-couldnt-happen-here-hosted-by-hilarie-burton-morgan-and-greenlights-for-two-new-series/

The only relevant informations, as per our rules, are the ones available on the Sundance TV website.

But that has incorrect information and I’ve provided proof that it’s incorrect.

The website of the broadcaster trump any other information.
