This show is a bit of a slow burn but once you watch a few episodes you figure out what they're trying to say. Billy Crudup is a guy I can totally see being a slick salesman in real life. The real MVPs are Hank Azaria who is a wicked smart ass and his girl Haneefah Wood who appears to be smarter than all of them.
I think new viewers have to go into this not expecting another Sci-fi show. Because that's all in the background.

That's a good description. It's much more about dads and sons; and life on the road for salesmen. Anyway it's a bit of a throwback to Mad Men in that its about the problems of some middle aged guy who's sorta a jerk.
