Only the showrunners Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker know for sure.

Amazing finds! Yes thats deep, I haven't even paid that close of attention, but it would make most sense to make the father the one person who the audience kinda gets eliminated right away since they are already married/engaged right?
Did you think it was Sid too?
I saw online some comedian doing stand up and he supposedly was a writer for HIMYF and he said F them they fired me so I'm tell you all that Sid is the father lol. If thats the case that'd be hilarious! I wonder what the legal ramifications would be if that were true and the show went on to completion.

Sid is certainly a high possibility. As no definitive script was written yet, there could have always been last minute changes with a twist to surprise the viewers. The father could even be someone else who only appeared briefly or still has to be introduced in a later season, like what happened in HIMYM.

All very good points i think what made HIMYM cool was the scene where Ted was accidentally teaching the wrong class and it was huge 300 person class, so that left it open to anyone sitting in that class that day as he said he didn't know it but your mother was sitting in that class today. Likewise in HIMYF they said that was the day she met your father so basically it could have been anyone that was in that bar that night right? So it could have been everyone we get introduced to or someone way in the back who was not clearly visible.
Had it been Sid that would be pretty original since the engagement/marriage to his long-distance wifey would trick the audience to not even consider him at all.
