Newspaper reporter Robinson Sucroe is sent to live on a tropical island to write about deserted life for The New York Herald. Only problem is, the island is home to groups of pirates and castaways, both of which want their existence kept a secret from the outside world. So now Robinson must write untrue stories about the island, keep their secret, and keep famous reporter Grumbleston from spilling the beans to the head editor.

In 1787 besluit de jonge Robinson Sucroë, een journalist bij de New York Herald, een vrijwillige schipbreukeling te worden op een onbewoond eiland en zijn avonturen te delen met de lezers van de krant. Wanneer hij op het eiland aankomt, ontdekt hij dat het wordt bezet door een stam uit Europa en door twee piratenbemanningen, een Franse en een Engelse.

Robinson ontmoette vervolgens Wednesday, aan wie hij het schrijven van zijn columns snel toevertrouwde. Maar Julius Uglyston, een jaloerse journalist, ontdekt het bedrog en probeert met alle middelen Robinson te ontmaskeren...

En 1787, le jeune Robinson Sucroë, journaliste au New York Herald, décide de devenir naufragé volontaire sur une île déserte et de faire partager ses aventures aux lecteurs du journal. Arrivé sur l'île, il découvre que cette dernière est occupée par la tribu des Touléjour originaires d'Europe et par deux équipage de pirates, l'un français et l'autre anglais.

Robinson fait alors la connaissance de Mercredi à qui il confie rapidement la rédaction de ses chroniques. Mais Julius Uglyston, un journaliste jaloux, découvre la supercherie et cherche par tous les moyens à démasquer Robinson...
