I've read somewhere the writers are softening TGVN and making Jack harder and more ruthless, a la "old Victor". I hope not. I don't like this Jack.

I have mixed feelings about ruthless Jack. I guess I don't mind too much seeing him stick it to Billy and Phyllis, but when he's going after people he is cool with like Lauren, I don't like that too much. As far as Victor, I don't like softer, gentle Victor. I was tired of his hand being in everything shady, but I don't like this gentle version either. I think both characters need a good balance, be ruthless when they need to be and be kind to the people they care about.
