Very interesting that it apparently is definite Julie is staying!
Wow: She's been the host for now 18 continuous years! I was a regular viewer of all the first several seasons (eventually got tired of all the usual shenanigans: lying, back-stabbing, unexpected back-dooring of people I most liked, disappointments, etc., so stopped watching - but did then later wind up watching a few subsequent seasons, a year, two, or three apart), and had forgotten how long ago (2000) the series began! Anyone else here who was a regular viewer way back at the beginning? During at least the first season or two, CBS aired an episode (most nights 30 mins., one or two nights of the week 60 mins.) every single night of the week, and I seem to recall would re-air the nightly episode at like midnight, it was such a completely new sort of show, so very unique, and was wildly popular back then.
I still remember, back then, how family members or friends would send up planes with banners flying behind them, with messages to this or that house guest to inform them someone was lying to or back-stabbing them! It was after a few times of that that the CBS powers that be started paying attention to the skies and mandating that everyone rush inside, and all the windows be blacked out, anytime a plane with a banner was nearby!
I think it was jealousy too. Notice that she called Angie a b*tch (and rightly so); she seems to attack all the girls who were cozying up to guys in the house.
Sam seems to be someone who, probably even in regular everyday life in the outside world, is most comfortable around guys, more relates to them, and who doesn't have tremendous liking for, much patience with, or a lot of trust in females.

I'm a lifer and remember all of that, except the frequency of the airings.
I do remember the first ousted houseguest on BB. His name was Mega. I guess he thought he was going to be a star. That was when the houseguests were allowed to nominate people, and the viewers voted out the houseguest on the block. There was no HOH.

The only people I remember from the first season are Brittany (had short dyed bright red hair), Chicken George, and there was also a middle-aged woman (can't recall her name). Also there was a young woman (a former beauty pageant queen) with long straight hair, who later went on to start a successful makeup line that she's pitched on QVC and the such.
Back during the first season, viewers had considerable control over things, though voting was so popularity based (nice people stay; mean, lying people go) that the villains and pot-stirrers got voted out early on and routinely, leaving just nice, friendly people in the house to get along pleasantly, which I guess CBS considered boring t.v. After that, the producers started endlessly introducing twists, etc., to ensure ongoing drama and conflict.
UPDATE: I just now checked on Wikipedia, and following are the names of the 1st Season houseguests: Winner: Eddie McGee; Runner-up: Josh Souza; 2nd Runner-up: Curtis Kin.
Others: Jamie Kern, George Boswell, Cassandra Waldon, Brittany Petros, Karen Fowler, Jean Jordan, William Collins
Jamie Kern is the woman who started the makeup line. Karen Fowler was the middle-aged woman. Other than George Boswell (a.k.a. 'Chicken George') and Brittany Petros (the aforementioned young woman of brightly dyed hair), I no longer remember anything about either of the other listed people, nor what any of them look(ed) like. Having said that, right now I've just done a web search and here's an article (that includes pictures), from 2016, "Where are they now?" regarding that group: https://reelrundown.com/tv/Big-Brother-US-Season-1-Where-Are-They-Now . Now looking through those pictures, I remember about half of the faces, though only Brittany, George, Karen, and Jamie well and readily.

I remember Chicken George, Mega (loud mouth, arrogant, and first voted out), bright-haired girl (didn't she wear wigs?) and the girl who sometimes communicated in her journal to keep thing secret from the viewers.
Is Eddie McGee who was known as "Hillbilly' in there? If so, I do also remember him (but not by the name Eddie McGee). Yes: I believe Jamie used a Bible to point to words, or perhaps alphabets, in succession, to communicate secrets. I believe the producers then ordered her to stop doing that.
I think it was Cassandra (the African-American woman) who wore wigs. She was very funny when she'd get wound up!
Curiously, I remember a number of things from the first season, but hardly anything from any subsequent season I watched! I guess the newness of it all back then is why it's remained memorable.
I figured her contract wasn't up with BB yet- that's why she's so proudly and shamelessly shoving the "Mrs. Moonves" in their faces( and why she hasn't departed with a video message like she did with The Talk- bet they are just ecstatic that her as s is gone) .
That photo of her with that story is exactly what I think she does every time she says "Mrs. Moonves" and goes home to hubby. They probably have a big laugh about it.
This season, once it got going, reminded me why I've opted to bypass most of the seasons of recent years: It was diverting, but, meanwhile, irritating and frustrating. lol

I think the past two seasons were irritating, but I must say last season's finale was EXTREMELY satisfying to see Paul crying with his fist bawled up to his eyes. He was a two-time loser and rightfully so.
I love how Tyler was essentially at a loss for words to describe Jeff. He was just shouting out Jeff whatever his last name is w/o much more to say.
All he could say was that he (Ty) was a big BB fan and Jeff whatever his last is name was in the house.
Whichever season it was that Jeff (Schroeder) and his now-wife were on was one of the summers I watched.
Regarding last night's show, I had forgotten all about Bay's total meltdown towards Tyler! Is it just me who, during that, thought she looked like she literally had blood inside her mouth? Her hysteria was off the charts! Girl completely blew a gasket!

I didn't even watch last night, but at the time I noticed the blood in her mouth and thought she had either bit her tongue or had some sort of serious gum/tooth issue.

Wow. I am impressed with both of you and your fantastic recall ability.
Out of 18 years I may have watched a total of 5 maybe 6 seasons , and those were not in succession .
