There are two entries for the movie : The Missing Piece. The one with the code 1271876 seems to be the more incomplete so it should be deleted.

We usually keep the entry with the lower number and delete the entry with the higher one:

lower number: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1271876
higher number: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1511844

I just moved all the info that you added.
And I'm going to delete the second entry in a bit...

What I don't know:
Was this film ever released with the Greek title "Το κομμάτι που λείπει"?
And was this film ever released with the French title "Le Chaînon manquant"?

So far, I couldn't find any evidence if these are official titles?!?

the Greek title was in the greek page of the Thessaloniki festival where it premiered and the French title is the one the French translator of the movie used for the translation for the GrecDOC, the festival dedicated to greek documentary in Paris.

Okay, good to know. But there's a rule in the contribution bible here:

https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/movie#59f3b1749251414f2000000c

Quote:

"The original title should be the title used for the first official release, not a title only used as a working title before the release or a title only used for festival screenings."

I'm not sure what's correct here?
We only have a festival title so far - no official release. I guess we have to wait for an official release...

and the French title is the one the French translator of the movie used for the translation for the GrecDOC, the festival dedicated to greek documentary in Paris.

Different rule here:

https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/movie#59f3b1749251414f2000000d

Quote:

"The translated title should be the first official translation. In other words, the title of the first—theatrical, physical, digital or TV—release. [...]

The festival title should be moved to the alternative title section if the movie is first released under a different title."

It's the same - no official French release so far...

Jumping in with a clarification.

A festival title can absolutely be used as either a translated title or original title. Imagine a case of an Arabic movie making the festival rounds. There's no chance we would lock an English translated title blank with an original title in Arabic if a perfectly fine English festival release title exists. After a couple of years we check back, look for an official release in a particular language and make a decision whether to allow the festival title to stay as a translated title or whether it's a bad title not in use anywhere and we lock it blank. In most cases we allow the established festival title to stay in such cases.

I see that in this case all titles mentioned have been allowed to stay without action which is the correct call!

Thanks for the clarification, @lineker ! smirk_cat
