I disagree.

BookMyShow had one entry - Housefull 5, and you choose your version inside that. That's like choosing IMAX version. Wikipedia page is also same.

Also outside India (proof: I watched in Hong Kong), there is no A or B. It is JUST Housefull 5 - and it's the A version.

At the end of the day, they're the same productions. It's similar to "choose your own ending" but you choose before you start the film. It's barely 3-4 minutes that's different, and is more of a marketing stunt.

Housefull 5 "B" is barely being played in cinemas now.

Posters say Housefull 5, not 5A. it's wrong to edit that to A. I never watched 5A, I watched 5. No one outside India knows about A or B. Even in India, smaller towns didn't. Posters were only put up for "5". Trailer was only released for 5.

One more thing I want to add:

1. Same box office tracking under Housefulll 5. Not being tracked separately.
2. IMDb only has Housefull 5A (no 5B)
3. Wikipedia only has Housefull 5 (no A or B)
4. If someone watches B after A, they are very much rewatching the 98% of the film. Can't log it as a separate film.
5. Unfair to say that "Oh there have been 6 Housefull movies so far". No there've not been.

Ultimately, it's a VERSION. Endgame had an extended version with some different post credit scene for a marketing gimmick. This is the same. Spider-Man: No Way Home Fan Edition is the same.

Above all, there are people who did watch No Way Home Fan Edition and would want to track that separately too? They tracked it as a rewatch, and put a tag on letterboxd saying fan edition.

No where outside India did the B version release. Because it's a forgotten gimmick for Indian audience to come to theatres twice. If you watch B after A, you watch the same film again with a 3-4 minute difference. Does that not count as a rewatch?

Can you link me to separate trailer or a trailer that has A or B in title to call these separate films?

It's a completely same cast, production, you're putting up the same posters, box office is tracked together, BookMyShow had a single tile for it, and had internal segregation.

Making these separate makes you question where do we draw line then? Do I now need to sit through 5B to complete my Housefull collection? I watched 5; but uh I didn't watch the 2 mins of separate ending. Oh the distributors didn't even bother to release it outside India. Oh the shows of B are already disappearing in India. Maybe won't ever come to OTT either.
