Hi there,
I'm a recent college graduate working on a personal data science project analyzing revenue trends in the Marvel Cinematic Universe using data from the TMDb API. This project is strictly non-commercial — I’m not monetizing it in any way and am doing it purely out of personal and educational interest.
I’d like to share my analysis with a YouTuber I follow who specializes in box office analytics and has ~ 1 million subscribers. While she does monetize her videos, I would only be sending her my project privately and am not requesting that she feature or profit from it directly.
I’m also considering publishing the analysis as a public Medium article, again with no monetization or paywall involved, and with clear attribution to TMDb, such as:
"This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb. Data source: The Movie Database (TMDb)"
Could you confirm that this kind of use is permitted under your API and site Terms of Use? I want to make sure I’m not in a legal or ethical grey area before sharing or publishing anything.
Thanks so much!

Hi @bryanseepaul01, I think sharing the data in the context you mentioned is fine. If possible, it would be nice if the final usage of this still had the attribution back to TMDB.
Thanks.
