Yes

Edge is doing it as well. Firefox is working correctly.

Less than a month ago, a user made the same complaint.
I couldn't find the conversation.
I don't remember very well, but it seems that there was some change in Chrome.
And, if I remember correctly, it is possible to use the "Save As" feature when saving in Chrome.

That's how I was saving the pictures, using the Save As feature. Save As is no longer working like it used to.

I don't use Chrome.
That's very strange. I think they made that change.
Maybe it's something to be chosen in the settings.

If you want Chrome to download JPEG's instead of WEBP files, you can use an extension like this one.

Although I preferred not to download/add more stuff, I did download the extension and it has been working very well. Thanks
