I am today years old when I realised movie pages on this site have the words "Top Billed Cast" above the cast credits. My understanding was, cast credits on this site is not supposed to be ordered by credit order?
Contribution bible says: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/movie/59f3b16d9251414f20000003#59f73ca49251416e7100000e
"Listing the main actors of a movie first is recommended. The main cast should not be sorted by credit order, order of appearance or in alphabetical order."
I know credit order is different to billing order, but I just assumed the same thing would apply to billing order (and Ive seen mods say prior to disaregard billing order). In my mind I guess billing order is just a type of credit order and the words in the contribution bible "credit order" was referring to opening scene credits/end scene credits and poster credits.
imo it should just read "cast", "top cast" or "main cast" instead of "top billed cast", cause "top billed cast" is misleading if the cast isnt supposed to be sorted by billing order right? I mean I guess its not a big deal because the main characters will most likely (?) be the top billed...but is that always the case? And regardless wont that make people sort the cast by billing order? So even if the top billed cast would be the same as the main characters they would still be ordered differently?

Maybe we should remove the word "Billed" - and then it says "Top Cast".
Or it could say "Movie Cast" - in the tv section it says "Series Cast".
I'm not sure how much impact that word "Billed" has to the average user?
I don't think many people care for that when editing, to be honest.

Well imo a lot of cast credits are not ordered correctly on this site. Some of them even locked incorrectly. I think if it said "top cast" or even just "cast"/"movie cast" more people would either naturally sort it by doing main characters first or actually bother to find out how it should be sorted.
Regardless seems you agree that it shouldn't say billed 👍
