Which API call do you use to log out of an account? Is it Delete Session?

I've been trying to use Delete Session to log out of an account, and while it says the API call worked successfully, the user is still logged in. How exactly does it work? It clears the session id? I made the session id appear in the console after calling Delete Session and it wasn't empty. it I am aware that there is a Log Out API call from version 4 but I haven't tried it.
