Deleted movies show up in ID list

When I get a 404 from the API for an ID in the last ID list I had retrieved from the API, I request the most recent ID list. Imagine my surprise when I still got a 404 for one of the movies in the current list (ID 1225651). Wouldn't it make more sense to update the ID list to reflect removed movies BEFORE applying the deletes?

The id list is simply an image of the database at a specific time of each day.
There can be deletions at any time during the day. They are done in real time when moderators see entries that need to be removed.
These are 2 completely independant process that can't be linked.
