backdrop_path is retuning null value

On almost every page after page 5 on the upcoming movies, there is at least one movie that has a backdrop_path value set to null Is this intentional, and if so how do I check to see if the value is null before calling I am currently using swift

it is intentional, as not all the shows might have a backdrop. On swift map it to an optional "let backdropPath: String?" in your class
